The screen is said to be amazing - Why?
The Shogun ticks every box needed in a world class monitor - 7.1” that can be calibrated, SRGB100%, User generated
3D LUTs, Viewing Angle 179 degrees, pixel density 325ppi, responsive touch panel, extensive suite of monitoring setup

Resolution is 1920x1200, this is not a video standard size, why?
The monitoring section itself is a native 1920 x 1080 full HD panel, with an additional 120 pixels (1080 + 120 = 1200) along
the bottom for permanent menu GUI to eliminate clutter and give button style access to functionality.
Shogun and all Atomos screens are IPS (SuperAtom IPS) not OLED Why?
IPS is a more advanced and expensive technology. OLED offers good bang for buck, however has inherent technical
limitations due to LED’s and their properties. (E.g. off axis viewing & life span of the blue color) IPS delivers cleaner
images, more accurate color, a wider gamut and more control. Apple, Sony, Sharp are 100% committed to IPS as are we.
Can I use LUTs (Look up tables) with the Shogun?
Yes. LUTs are widely used by professional cinematographers to capture a atter image, leaving more scope for
manipulation in Post production. The LUT feature on Shogun allows the user to see the effect of the LUT on/off on the 7”
Shogun screen.
What are the limitations with LUTs I can use?
Unlike other monitors & monitor/recorders on the market, the Shogun allows you to apply LUTs regardless of the Codec
being used allows you to apply LUTs (SLog2, Slog3, CLog etc) as well as user dened LUTs. LUTs need to be in cube le
format (i.e xxx.cube) to work on Shogun.
How do I load a LUT?
Your LUTs need to be in “.cube” format & loaded onto your SSD. Press the “Monitor” icon in the lower right hand corner of
the Shogun screen to view and toggle between up to 8 LUTs.
How many LUTs can be loaded on Shogun?
8 LUTs can be loaded from the SSD onto the Shogun.
When I press 1:1 or 2:1 in 4K recording, what is actually on the screen?
1:1 means you are viewing a HD 1/4 of the 4K image. 2:1 means you are looking at an SD - 1/16th of the 4K image.
